Environmental Policy & Carbon Neutrality
Our Environment Policy
The natural environment makes up the living world around us. It can be as destructive as a natural disaster, or as inspirational as a sunrise. Nonetheless it is our life source and is therefore essential to our survival. Maintaining this life source will become one of the fundamental challenges for the global community in the years to come.
Colleagues Adrep recognises that it has a responsibility to meet the environmental challenges that arise through its own operations and to help guide and support its clients in achieving their environmental sustainability objectives.
Our Key Environmental objectives include:
- Increase the volume of environmentally friendly and sustainable products and services to our customers.
- Incorporate environmentally sustainable principles throughout our supply chain.
- Becoming a carbon neutral company.
- Minimising pollution and conserving resources through the adoption of environmental best practices.
- To attain ISO 14001 Environmental certification.
- Continue to source sustainable paper from well controlled and managed forests that meet strict quality and humanitarian standards.
Carbon Neutral
Colleagues Adrep have recently signed up to the Tree Planting initiative with Carbon Neutral™.
Each year, we’ll calculate the CO2 emissions created by our operations and employees, and fund the planting of trees to sequester those emissions . This year we estimated our footprint to be around 20 tonnes of CO2 and have donated accordingly.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide while they grow and trap it for years to come. On average, over 100 years, six trees planted in Australia will absorb 1 tonne of CO2. Trees also help to combat salinity, reduce soil erosion, clean underground water systems and provide habitat for wildlife.
Carbon Neutral was started as a not-for-profit organisation by Men of the Trees in 2001 as a way to help industries and the community to take responsibility for the effect of greenhouse gas emissions on the environment.
Since then Carbon Neutral have planted hundreds of thousands of trees in some of the most environmentally vulnerable areas of Australia. For more information visit www.carbonneutral.com.au
